OP - when I mean DS is head and shoulders above his peers I mean it. He looks like Jolly the big green giant in his class pictures. I hope he is tall but not abnormally tall! I have a 6'2" brother and DH has a 6'5" uncle. So there are tall genes in our family.
We know a kid who was like this. He looked many years older than his age through his whole childhood (and dwarfed his average sized older brother- who is 2yrs older- starting from toddlerhood). The parents are 6’1” and 5’3” ish. When he was 4 he looked like he was 8-10yrs old. I think when he was 10yrs old he must’ve been 5’7” 150lbs or so. Maybe even larger. He is now 15 and is 6’1”ish 190ish and apparently done growing (has been same size for 2+yrs now). A big kid for sure, but same height as his dad, not crazy gigantic or anything. He is probably 3in taller than his older brother. He just grew super super early for some reason. The parents always seemed a little baffled by it, so I don’t get the sense it was a common family growth pattern. Pretty average family otherwise.
