What is with all these Georgetown supporters? I don't really get it. I have spent a lot of time in Georgetown, and it seems to have the worst of all worlds (not comparing with slums, obviously): bad restaurants, bad public transportation, bad parking, bad accessiblity, crowded sidewalks... If you wanted more urban, I would understand Dupont or Penn Quarter, but I really don't understand what Georgetown has other than historical cache. Can someone please explain the current logic on this one?
Gtown is very pretty and there are areas that are away from tourist trap places, plus some homes have garages, backyards and driveways. I would choose east village area of Gtown or some streets in Dupont. These are really my favorite areas in DC if money and schools were no issue. At this point, since money and schools are important, it would be Mclean if I were to move back to DC area, even metro accessible walkable parts of Arlington are out of my price range.
