It's  really, really tough to navigate food allergies and I'm sure it's equally tough to navigate dietary restrictions based on principles.  It's particularly hard when your children can't have some of the same choices as other children and although they're awfully mature and patient and understand that they'll get sick if they eat XX food, it's still tough.  Sorry -- I'm having a tough mom night after a long week and basically already feeling like DC misses out on enough due to food restrictions (given the role that food plays socially, for good or ill); encountering a sanctimonious post just really set me off tonight.....[/quote]
