NP but I have to be honest, if you are in the “struggle bus” in your daily life just due to thinking about the election, unless your literal day-to-day is working in politics, I don’t get it. It just seems like maybe you’re too emotionally invested in the “win” for your team. Even Biden was grinning like a kid who got his first bike at Christmas as he welcomed Donald Trump back to the White House during their meetup this week.
If he ain’t that worried, maybe you should take your cue from that.
I’m being serious.
For your own mental health, maybe consider that the guy who sternly warned you that Trump would be a threat to democracy itself was all jokey smiles and warmth. Peaceful transition of power can be done with a solemn closed-lips straight-faced handshake just as easily as with a grin. Each conveys an emotional message. And Biden chose to grin. Let it sink in and maybe just take a deep breath.[/quote]

DP. My life is fine. And we will likely make out like bandits financially in the next 4 years - we already bought and shorted some stocks that were the right call. The crypto tax cuts, deregulation of real estate development will also put money directly in our pockets since we already have investments in those areas. We definitely profited off trump’s first term. His 2017 tax cuts were aimed squarely at us. We benefited from the defanging of the “fiduciary rule”.

But like OP, I am deeply unhappy about the election results. I am in medicine, and I am worried about the status of healthcare for U.S. citizens on multiple fronts - affordable care act, abortion rights, having a total charlatan be appointed health secretary, being woefully unprepared for the next general pandemic, substandard care for women’s reproductive health that will crater our already dismal maternal and infant mortality rate. And that’s just healthcare. If I only cared about money, I would have voted for trump. But I care about other things more. [/quote]
