OP here. I guess this is the real question, right? I would say primarily the opportunity to attend lectures and other activities that they offer to members. Would probably use a gym sometimes, or at least our kids would. Place to hold events/ party maybe once a year. Would probably eat there with family or friends maybe once a month. Also interested in meeting other members, as we are fairly new in town.
I don’t believe your kids would actually be able to use the gym. If they’re minors, it’s not open to them, and if they’re adults, they’d need their own membership. Also, have you seen the gym? Referring to the cosmos club, think bad hotel gym w/ outdated equipment and a few 80 year olds. University has better sports facilities. Lots of our friends joined for squash. Otherwise, I’m not sure you’ll get out of them what you’re expecting, unless you’re in your 80s. Why not look at a country club? More members your age and equal amounts of talks and events

I understand that most of these clubs offer reciprocity to other clubs internationally and across the US. That has some appeal as well.[/quote][/quote]
