The truly gifted kids will honestly not be challenged until college. Acceleration and appropriate material will keep them from being bored, developing lazy habits, and ignoring school. They need to learn that its not futile to hope to be the best and that you can reach your goals. The average kids, if they learn that motivation and confidence can yield results have just as a good a shot at succeeding as the gifted kids. Curriculum 2.0 and the new grading system sends average kids the message that good enough is all you will reach. There is not point in working toward an ES because it isn't the goal and its unclear whether its even possible for you to ever achieve it.

Its elitist to suggest that everyone can just pick up and move to Virginia. There are people who are deciding to move to VA over Montgomery County now because of this but these are the people who have not yet invested in a home or a community. [/quote]
