I'm equally puzzled. We're new to club volleyball and competing with returning rosters. Have no clue if going to tryouts is even worth it (just me thinking out loud, not my daughter, she is game and reasonably optimistic). I only know of one club with an open position (based on what the coach told me, off record, not one of the above), but even that isn't guaranteed of course. [/quote]
You should try out for mid- and low-tier clubs. They claim that their rosters are coming back, but that is unlikely in many cases. Their good players tend to try out for better clubs and they may return if they have no other option. Trying out for a top club is a waste of time and money for a beginner player. That's where they have returning rosters, plus the better players who played for mid- and low-tier clubs during the previous season.[/quote]
