Might be BMI was in the obese range, and when I got my blood work done before I started compounded tirzepatide (the affordable version of zepbound made in compounding labs) it turned out that I was already prediabetic. I have had extremely little side effects, except some occasional fatigue, which is cured by a 20 minute nap and early bedtime, and some mild constipation, completely offset with a couple of daily fiber gummy‘s. No nausea, no diarrhea, and thankfully no blurred vision. I would seriously consider this as the top option for weight loss if your body doesn’t respond to calorie deficit, strength, training, and exercise. For the record, I was already doing all of those things so I have changed almost nothing about my lifestyle except adding a ton of electrolytes to increase hydration. so I was doing a ton of things, I am at a tiny dose of GLP one of 2.5 and the weight and inflammation have fallen off. If you’re interested, I suggest you try it, and if you don’t like it, you’ll quickly know. I actually told no one I was taking it because I wanted to make the decision on my own with no bad vibes and judgment, it’s One of the best things I ever could’ve done for myself. Perimenopausal woman with no weight issues until after I finished having kids, had a stubborn few pounds I couldn’t lose that crept up. Started in August at 175, currently 155, goal weight 140!
OP here, yeah I keep seeing people say it's the best decision they made. I got the Zepbound; will start this weekend. Insurance didn't cover it even with the comorbidities (hypertension and ASCVD). I may need to switch to an insurance that does cover it during open season. Is compounded tirzepatide available? I heard there's a moratorium of sorts because of an FDA issue.
If you don’t have that much to use, didn’t your doctor have other options that might be covered?
