Are you presuming that they made a FULL withdrawel of the retirement accounts prior to the crash? In terms of Roth, 401K, etc., their share quantity remained the same, save for their periodic withdrawels. Again, it should have been high enough to allow them to retire, yes, the value dropped, but by and large, many are back up again. [/quote]
