I guess if Princeton can take Woodrow Wilson's name off of its famed IR school, then Capitol Hill Day School should be able to sandblast a local bigot's name off of its building.
Wilson should be pulled out of the Cathedral and buried upside down amongst Union soldiers at Arlington.
I couldn't believe that Wilson is entombed in the National Cathedral. I just looked it up and it's true. That's so fuc(ed up.
Criticizing a 1924 interment with 2024 eyes. Sounds productive.
A crappy president, in addition to being a rabid racist. Kick him out of the cathedral and bury whatever is left someplace more appropriate.
Yes, very productive to spend a lot of money doing that. There’s nowhere else that money could be better spent in 2024, right?
Cost would be minimal to properly get the remains out of the cathedral and into a cemetery. Would need a couple of workers to open the truly odd marble tomb that sits by a side altar in the cathedral. Then bury them in a cemetery. Minimal cost and big improvement to the cathedral. For CHDS, removing the name from the building would likely be a few hundred dollars. Getting rid of Jim Crow remnants takes determination, not money.
