It absolutely could happen in private. You are right, though, that the kid would be gone. An assault that puts a staff member in the hospital would do that. If it were an assault that only caused minimal injuries? Eh, the kid would probably get counseling and then would be asked to "repair" with the teacher. That was my experience as a staff member repeatedly hit by a kid in a private school. [/quote]
