Long story short, I was on/off GLP1's for almost 2 years. I lost around 70 lbs. I am gaining weight back (maybe not 100% surprising) but I can tell it's mostly from inflammation. I have some sort of autoimmune issue (they don't know what specific one) that causes inflammation. When I was on GLP1's, I felt so much better. No joint pain, no constant puffy-ness. Weight gain aside, I just want to get rid of this feeling again. Does anyone have experience with a supplement that decreases inflammation?
OP, respectfully, I doubt that's it. I work with weight loss patients on GLP1s and 99% of the time, it's because they never learned to eat properly, with or without the drugs. Also, being "on/off" the drug is not the way it's supposed to work. What does that mean?
OP here. Respectfully, I think it is. I'm actually eating better than I was on the GLP1 because I knew I'd need to be really cognizant to not gain weight back. That said, while the weight gain in a bummer, its the feeling of inflammation that I hate more. I'd forgotten what it feels like because it was pretty much non-existent when I was on GLP1s. My joints are killing me, my skin feels tight, I can literally push on my legs and see how puffy I am because my skin doesn't bounce back, anything cold feels so good on my skin (but I'm not actually hot). I know I wasn't supposed to be on and off the drugs, but tell that to all of the insurance issues and supply issues. There were times I couldn't get it for months and then I've had to switch from Mounjaro to Ozempic to compounded. If you are so in the know about GLP1's you would know that it been far from a linear process to access these drugs. At one point I was paying $25/mo, then $1000+/mo, then back down to $400/mo. When I was having to pay 100% out of pocket for a bit, I had to stop because the cost was prohibitive. If I could get Mounjaro for a reasonable price every month, I'd never get off of it. But I can't get it now because I'm not diabetic and my insurance won't cover Zepbound. I did compounded for a while, but that's still pretty expensive and makes me a little nervous on who little it' regulated.
