Another Utah vote. We live in Colorado and a lot of kids from our high ranking public HS have gone there in recent years. My son is a Sophomore there and absolutely loves it. He's made great friends and built a good community for himself. He went in undecided but is studying Applied Mathematics and QAMO. We've been very impressed with the support and guidance provided for undergraduates. Not doing the honors college because it doesn't seem to provide much for the extra costs but he's participating in a program that provides undergraduate research opportunities for credit and the research he's doing is in line with his interests. And of course the skiing is close and awesome.
So many people have moved to SLC or Park City from the Denver/Boulder area because of its proximity to skiing. Even if you have a CO ski house, driving out to the mountains Friday through Monday is unbearable. The University of Utah and the job market in Utah are on the up and up, particularly in the tech sector, where math majors are recruited.
