Have the girl share a room with the boy with the largest age gap, so less rivalry. By the time the baby is a toddler, she might like changing again and having a "baby brother" to fuss over and help raise, like a living doll.

This is how my grandparents did it with 11 kids, though there was a 20+ year age gap between the youngest and oldest, but I helped raise a brother who was 9 years younger. [/quote]

The girl and the baby can share for a while or the baby can move in with the older boys. The part about not wanting the baby to remember sharing a room with the girl is weird. At 4, he likely won’t remember, but she’ll be old enough to…why would it be different for a girl than a boy? [/quote]
