Of course you have to double check even with your blinkers on! They aren't 'moses blinkers'!
I don't think OP was doing this since they mentioned specifically having a space and the idiot closing off the space, but moses blinkers are the people who turn them on and think that traffic will part like the red sea to let them in.

You need to have a space, signaling is nice, go quickly and don't slow down, and like a PP said, sometimes there's plenty of room to merge AFTER the car. I think people need to play more video games and trajectory sports to understand where they are in space as a moving object. [/quote]
