I think for men it's different. Men are more likely to accept that they may never end up with someone because a woman has to select them which is not guaranteed.

For women it is almost a given that they don't even have to try hard to get a guy. I think this add huge pressure and you don't want to be that woman who ends up alone.

However in this modern era where hookup is normalized women no longer have thia pressure to be in a relationship. They have their own money, own job, own housing,amd if they want a child and are healthy enough they can buy one. [/quote]

Men and women reports of being abused in relationships is equal in most forms of abuse. Women are more likely to experience more severe abuse (injury).  When it comes to emotional / psychological abuse and low level physical abuse (pushing, having things thrown at you etc), the numbers are equal. [/quote]
