Applicants become pretty similar at the top---they all have 'everything', i.e., grades, scores, ecs so they do read them carefully. Watch the podcasts at Yale's website. It was really informative with how the committees look at applications and they have specific ones directed solely to the essay. Even if you don't apply there. It's helpful. After T30 or so, essays become less and less important.[/quote]
