I wish they had a half wine pairing, like every other course [/quote] The one we just attended absolutely had small pours -- not just to cut down on the alcohol, but to prevent the glasses from lining up unfinished as the tiny courses came through. Each was paired with 1-3 courses, so unless you chugged, a full pour makes no sense. They also had a cocktail/mocktail paring option. And, of course, water is fine.[/quote] Also you can always ask to share the wine pairing so you and your dining partner have half the pour each. Restaurants are usually very flexible about doing a smaller number of glasses in the pairing too, so you should definitely ask[/quote]
