[/quote] No hooks. SAT was near-perfect (so better than the PSAT, or I'm guessing would have made semifinalist!). No ACT. I don't mean to suggest that listing "Commended Student" made the difference, just that it clearly didn't hurt, and I don't think it makes sense to leave it off (again, unless you can fill the app with more impressive awards).
