His point about the suburbs was that money is being spent to build roads in the suburbs to allow people to reach jobs in the city. However, if that money were spent on transit in the city, it would allow workers who are already in the city to reach those jobs. Maybe you think this is a racial argument of some sort, but it is exactly the same sort of thing that you would find on Greater Greater Washington -- you know, that bastion of DC gentrification that is so popular with white folks. Who knew that Obama was an urbanist? Next, he'll be talking about "transit oriented development" and "multi-modal transportation" and be guest blogging on GGW. [/quote]
