Only us news has UVA rated higher since it is a pay to play rating

Umd has more Nobel graduates and faculty
Umd has more Pulitzer graduates and faculty
Umd has more research funding
Umd has twice the national championships
College park has 6x less violent crime than Charlottesville
Umd has more academy award alumni
Umd has the following creations/inventions made by alumni

Google. Muppets . Underarmour. Seinfeld. The Wire. Sirius Satellite .  Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Apollo 13. Pulse Dopplar Radar. The Jumbotron. Coronary Stents. Miniaturized Insulin pump. Linear Programming. The Universal Price Code. Retractable Landing Gear. The Octane System, The Automatic Parachute. The Hybrid Engine, Outback Stealhouse, Nautica.
