Sort of like college, where you know it would be stupid to just apply to Yale, so you hedge your bets by applying to five ivies plus MIT and Stanford. Not a lot of families have the option of saying "gee, DS got into Sidwell, Potomac, Landon, Maret, St. Anselm's and St. Albans, which one of these do we choose?" Which means that, come March and April, if a family has a choice, it's because one or two schools selected their DS.[/quote]
