Thanks for posting Mateo!
Ha, exactly. He’s still supporting the centreville expansion, so he’s more of an opportunist than anything. I find it hilarious that these extreme left sb members’ hallmark position is that we have to be extremely frugal. It’s like they’ve become fiscal libertarians.
I find it absurd that SB member voted against Dunne's Hayfield footballl related motion. 3 in favor of FCPS investigation were Dunne, R Anderson, McElveen. Board docs 8/29/24 "I move that the School Board preserve the integrity of our athletic programs and provide a level playing field for FCPS athletes by directing the Superintendent to retain an outside law firm to conduct a comprehensive and independent investigation of all allegations arising out of or relating to the recruitment and transfer of football players to the Hayfield HS football team from high schools outside of Fairfax County, to include involuntary reassignments of FCPS personnel, improper fundraising, improper expenditure of funds, cyberbullying and social media policy violations, and residency and eligibility of players. Motion by Mateo Dunne, second by Ricardy J Anderson. Final Resolution: Motion Fails Yes: Mateo Dunne, Ricardy J Anderson, Ryan McElveen No: Marcia St John-Cunning, Robyn Lady, Rachna S Heizer, Karl V Frisch - Chair, Sandy B Anderson - Vice Chair, Kyle McDaniel, Seema Dixit, Melanie K Meren Not Present at Vote: Ilryong Moon" If his family has been calling him Mateo for decades what's the big deal? However the same meeting had the IB contract [with increases] bundled into a consent agenda. No members had the thing moved to an action item triggering discussion for the record and public. It's a sole source contract that expires on 12/31/2025 which seems odd since it doesn't match a school year or the period that exams would be outsourced for grading. VDOE has stats on senior IB enrollment and IB diplomas per school. Fiscally irresponsible to continue with IBMY, career/tech, plus any school that has low utilization of the program. Budget.
