That way some kids won't get recess when others have it cancelled for rain?  Better yet, let's just do away with recess entirely?  Why not?  It's clearly of no importance to learning.[/quote]

Chill the heck down.  Most HVACs at these schools are not great at keeping the buildings cool.  So getting the kids all hot and sweaty and then placing them in a room that is a humid 78 will lead to some folks with heat related illnesses.  Sure the morning may have been cool enough, but it was still a dew point of 72 and very humid.[/quote]OP was talking about morning recess.  It was approximately 75 degrees and overcast at the time recess was cancelled this morning.[/quote]

As someone who who was playing tennis outdoors at 8:30 am, I can tell you it was at least 80 per my phone and it was NOT overcast!
