We have a place near Kilmarnock and love it. We spend a lot of time on the water and love our time there. The pace is a good change from DC. There are enough good restaurants and places to explore. I can go to great restaurants here. I go there to relax, get out on the water, and watch the sunset with a cocktail. My kids love it there. We have friends come and visit all the time. And life is easy there.

It is true that it’s tough to find good help. But you can find some reliable people. We have done some work to our house and after a few misses, have good connections to people we like.  Ask your realtor for some intros. And I wish the drive was a little shorter. It takes 3 hours most times. We have starlink for internet and it’s fine. Good enough to work effectively.

We also looked at the MD eastern shore. We found much better value in Kilmarnock. But you pay for it with a longer drive. [/quote]
