The state still allows people to "read for the law," or, in other words, apprentice rather than attend law school. In practice, this means that slews of hopeful paralegals who think they know everything but know close to nothing take the bar exam. And also the students who are stupid enough to pay for unaccredited law schools. The state has a very high failure rate in general. But I've heard it batted around that for those who take the bar without attending law school the passage rate is like 5%. So it's really just kind of stupid that they still allow this. But whatever. It's fine. I'm not worried that Kim K will get licensed and go around %$#@ing up people's lives. Not gonna happen. [/quote]
