Hamburger helper is the name of a convenience food that made a dish more convenient. It’s literally beef, gravy, cream and noodles. I’m sure it existed long before the name. We now add sour cream and call it stroganoff. Sloppy joes are basically chili. Which is also beef, tomato sauce and spices. Also a meal that has existed for God only knows how long. [/quote]
