I received a traffic control signal violation in the mail yesterday from the city of Rockville. It says I didn't stop at the red traffic signal, though the image clearly shows me stopped, and another image of me turning, but there is no sign saying "no turn on red." The ticket is for $75. I'm confused by what I violated and plan to contest it. The letter provides a video link but the citation number and pin don't work when I try accessing it. I'm curious if anyone has contested and won a traffic violation, what the process is, and if it's worth my time/energy. I would hate to take a day off from work for this.
If you're positive that the video link doesn't work, request a trial in person.
So i took a close look at the video and played in slow motion. The video has been tampered with, showing the footage roll backwards and then forwards to make it look like a rolling stop. I advise you all to pay close attention to every part of the video for evidence. This may be a rockville scam. There are people that deliberately go through a light and there are a few that truly brake to make the car rock and move forward…
