So is it like 20,000 a person, really?
Absolutely NOT. I did a safari in 2023, I paid $10,000 for two people. This was an 11 day safari followed by a 5 day safari (Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar) with gorilla trekking in Uganda. You absolutely do NOT have to book it with one of these very high end operators that 'everyone' here goes with. You all see the same animals!!! We saw people on game drives from Abercrombie & Kent and "&Beyond" -- they were right by us watching the same pride of lions, in the same type of vehicle (Land Cruiser). Safaris are in all price ranges. We did a mid-range safari, and while I wouldn't say that this was this life changing event like everyone else says, it was a great trip. Look at SafariBookings.com - this is an aggregator that has safari operators in all price ranges. That's how I booked mine.
