Are processed foods like cereals worse than products like fiber gummies or Benefiber? I need to consume a lot more fiber, and it seems like unnatural sources are what I’ll turn to if I don’t want to add a ton of carbs and extra calories.
Low net carb tortilla wraps can have 18 grams of fiber or more. I'm no expert; but I'd vote for the gummies or Benefiber over cereals. Occasional granola or something over yogurt is good for adding whole grains; but generally avoiding as much highly processed foods as possible is best. Metamucil helps keep things moving for me and the psyllium fiber particularly is helpful in regulating glucose. Not many fiber supplements include psyllium fiber.
