Doctors will test or try treatment for everything else that could be causing the fatigue first, and only when all those tests come back negative and other treatment doesn't work will they diagnose CFS. This is why it's definitionally hard to treat. It's really not very different from "we don't know what's wrong with you." It's a frustrating diagnosis for all involved (doctor, patient, family).[/quote]
