New poster here. I’ve tried posting in the regular forums on non NYC specific questions but it just doesn’t work. 
 Example, very average NYC incomes are considered astronomical by DC standards and so everyone thinks you’re humble bragging while you’re really just asking a real question about real choices that only New Yorkers get given the insane COL here. [/quote]

If you want actual answers on this site you need to give details, otherwise nobody knows any background and the trolls come on heavy and fast. You could always preface your financial questions with I live in NYC- the average income is X, the average 2 bedroom apartment 700 sf costs X-Y. Then ask your question.

Lots of people on here from many different places, just give more background so people have a reference point and can be more helpful. Also if you ask a question then remain engaged long enough to answer additional questions/provide more detail and you’ll get better answers more aligned with what you’re looking for.
