You don't get it. Biden needs to be convinced, not forced. He's known to be stubborn, so it's going to take a lot of convincing. The 25th amendment would cause lasting resentment and damage. That's a MAGA dream, but not in Democrats' interest.

And Democrats are very fractured right now. Stop talking about "what Democrats want". A lot of them don't even know what they want, because they see grave risk whichever option they pick, which means that inertia and Biden might win the day. Thank goodness some people have had the courage to say publicly what many think privately - that Biden should step aside. I hope the dam has breached and Biden will be convinced to make a graceful exit. I'd say the chances are still in favor of a Trump/Biden election right now. Which would mean Trump as President given his debate momentum, the news from the judiciary and the polls. This time in 2020, Biden was statistically ahead.[/quote]
Biden is not in the driver's seat. He was set up with the early debate and was too far gone mentally to see the trap. The Dems driving the move to replace him know what they want; a nominee that is not Biden, not Harris.[/quote]

Stop with the conspiracy theories. Biden wanted, and still ostensibly wants, a second term. His family is for the moment very supportive of that. A LOT of Democrat lawmakers and big donors did NOT want Biden for a second term, but it's really hard to tell a sitting President that they shouldn't run again, when a lot of previous Presidents have done so. Even now, only a very few D congresspeople have gone there.

This is all on Biden. He has to relent. Influential Democrats were giving him plenty of space to come to that realization on his own, but if he doesn't change his mind, there's going to be pressure applied from the donors, lawmakers, polls and the media. We'll see how it goes.

The conspiracy was senior Democrats, including Harris herself, who full well knew Biden's cognitive decline and who lied and gaslighted the American public and even much of the Democratic party about it. The same politicians, newspapers and news stations calling for Biden to withdraw are the same newspapers and stations who just a week ago were reassuring everyone that the clips of Biden in Europe were deepfakes. That's gaslighting. That's lying. That's a conspiracy.

Harris has the most name recognition of the Democrats right now as an alternative to Biden. Despite her mediocrity, the black voters will be extremely loyal to her and they are a powerful force within the Democratic Party and the party can't afford to alienate her no matter how abysmal Harris is. But it's early days. No one really knows what is happening next. I still think Biden will be the name on the ballot because ultimately it's his decision or not, and he's a stubborn old fool surrounded by a family eager to keep him in office and that's that. Biden will not step down because he is too old and confused to make decisions for himself at this point. Harris has absolutely no chance of winning against Trump. Democrats need to stop listening to pretentious UMC college voters in costal areas. Pick someone that can actually win PA, GA or suffer a repeat of 2016. Hillary couldn't win the swing states and Kamala won't either.  [/quote]
