It's been pretty standard for at least 10 years. APS has been incredibly slow to adapt a decent curriculum, but this isn't new and many teachers were trained in the science of reading [/quote] So what does that have to do with Youngkin being a bad governor? Virginia passed bipartisan legislation which required among other things teachers to be trained in the science of reading. It is true that some APS teachers are trained in the method and some just understand it so can implement it without training. But many are not hence the training. [/quote]
