My son is 8 and still in pull-ups at night. He is getting invitations for sleep overs that we decline because of this situation. Is there anything we can do to help speed up this process? He pees right before bed and he doesn't have much to drink in the evening. Our doctor said this is within the realm of normal and that the alarms and the midnight waking does nothing but make everyone miserable. The doctor won't prescribe anything yet. I just don't want him missing out on fun stuff because of this.
Your doctor wont even prescribe anything to take only on the occasion of something like a sleepover? I could understand Drs hesitation if the question was worded as looking for a prescription solution for every night— but they might be more willing if you made it clear you will only give it to him for something like overnight camp or sleepovers. Not every night til he goes through puberty. I remember reading similar bedwetting posts that mentioned using a prescription for special occasions but not for everyday use.
