I work with a lot of people who are chronically suicidal, and they will tell me that they are “always” thinking about suicide. But when I probe further, usually they can articulate something like, “The last time I really thought about suicide was yesterday at 3pm when I brought dinner to my mom’s house and she made a snide remark.” Counseling might be really helpful, OP. My guess is that you are not the cause of 100% of every unhappy moment he has had, and you are probably the cause of a lot of really happy ones too. [/quote]
