4.0 UW gpa, 7 APs, passed all AP tests (4 on AP Calc AB in junior year). 4 year varsity athlete, 200+ hours in person volunteering at two nonprofits, valedictorian at a no rank high school (advisor told him).
Oh, forgot 710 math and 700 ERWB
Major?
Letters and Sciences
Applied undeclared?
j I thought everyone who is offered Spring admission is put in letters and sciences, but I am happy to be wrong. Some majors are easier to transfer into than others. My own kid with a 3.9 UW GPA and 1450 SAT was offered spring admission. He wanted computer science so chose to attend elsewhere.
PP, CS, got it. That was what I was trying to determine when I asked about applied field of study.
As has been stated many, many times, UMD admits major blind. Once you are in then you are competitively considered for your major, if it’s an LEP.
I’ve heard this too, but then also that UMD, like many schools needs to balance the class to ensure all majors are represented. Aren’t those two contrary goals?
