Sidwell has a Chinese Studies Program. “Founded in 1983 in honor of John Fisher Zeidman ’79, the Chinese Studies Program includes language, history, and culture curricula in all divisions of the school, as well as an alumni fellowship program, a student exchange program, student travel to China, and an annual lecture series.” https://www.sidwell.edu/academics/global-citizenship/chinese-studies
I believe this has been watered down a bit since COVID with the hold on student trips to China and the hosting of exchange students from China. I don't know if they have started back up. But, now the amazing teacher who led the China program is also retiring so I'd assume there is still an adjustment in progress. His 10th grade course in East Asia was great and it's too bad he's moving on. I know many families that had hoped to take full advantage of this program but lost out (clearly COVID was not the school's fault). Basically - be sure to ask the current status.
