French expats voted yesterday in their respective Embassies. My mother voted this morning in Paris. Next to her in line was a young lady who, when instructed to pick at least two voting slips (so that no one knows who anyone votes for), picked up two Bardella slips.

The French presidential election is next year. I fear Marine Le Pen will have her long-awaited win. Macron is term-limited. He's been a great  President. He's done everything he could to fend off the extremes (both right and left), including picking right-wing Prime Ministers and trying to align his centrist party a little more to the right to keep the far-right away from power.
