Yep.

If you aren’t a minority and don’t have great scores, etc. it’s a crapshoot.

I wish U MD would do what UNC does and prioritize in-state students.

As a Terp, I’m sad that my alma mater has changed so dramatically and is not a real option for most mcps students.

I know students with good stats whose families had donated a lot of money who didn’t get in. Many people are over it and don’t bother applying anymore.

I wouldn’t call it a crapshoot for anyone in state for general admission (not leps) unless they’re on the stats border. There was also a Supreme Court decision last year you might want to brush up on. The Naviance charts show what you need to get in. Of course, if you mess up your application, you might be that rogue red mark in a sea of green. If you’re at 1360 and some Bs, yeah, you’re holding your breath and rolling. [/quote]
