No schitt The district has allowed an open drug market to exit for yeeeeeeears around it. And you wonder why all sports teams want to bail on the city?
Have you been living under a rock or something? Leonsis committed to staying in DC months ago. The Redskins "bailed on the city" 25 years ago, and the Nationals aren't going anywhere. Also, I'm guessing the study never actually bothered to check if the crime in the surrounding area actually affects law-abiding sports fans? Because it's completely irrelevant if it doesn't. That "open air drug market" (suburbanite speak for "black people I think I saw smoking a joint once") may cause crime but if it's hood rats robbing or beating up hood rats while Caps fans are unaffected...who cares?
