Exercise more, and every day. I have belly fat that comes and goes, but it goes when I walk six or seven days a week. I don't do vigorous exercise, but walking an hour or so a day does keep it down, not completely off, but down. If I stop exercising, it builds up. I eat a very healthy diet, lots of fruits and vegetables, and I make everything, including ketchup. No processed foods, no soda, no takeout, rare restaurant meals (they are huge and very fatty, usually). I make ice cream and cookies, and cakes and pies, and whatever I feel like eating, but I seem to eat far less than I used to. All that cooking wears me out! Cut out bread if you can, crackers. Eat healthy fats, nuts, seeds, olive, grapeseed, coconut oil. Even butter is a healthy fat. Do you eat eggs or fish? If so, eat more of those, and far fewer snacks like chips. I do indulge in salt and vinegar chips from time to time, and I fried up some donuts the other day, but generally I eat nothing fried. I don't have a lot of belly fat, but I never had any before menopause, and now it's there, this blobby thing that won't go away unless I exercise. It was much worse before I stopped all the processed foods (and juice), so that has helped a lot.
I'm not OP or PP but this is the way I eat. I walk anywhere I can and usually log 2-3 miles per day. Running is just too hard on my skeleton. I garden vigorously everyday until I am drenched with sweat. (Really!) I have a big yard and lots of weeds. Also this time of year, the clearing out of junk from the house is very invigorating. I've lost 10-12 pounds over the last 4 weeks doing this. And I'm getting muscle tone in an all over sense. I hate the gym and I like everyone, hate diets. But if you saw me you say: she not skinny, but still big with side boob fat and shoulder blade slight boobage. Also still have that inch squeeze of belly fat. But I just started a month ago! And I feel so much better eating healthier. I need to lose 20 more but with the cold weather coming, I just burst with energy, so I feel I can continue with this. But yeah, You have to eat less. Way less. Fortunately, I hate cooking. :-)
