[/quote] South Rim is over 7,000 ft in elevation and does not get hot and humid like DC. Just for comparison, the highest point in Shenandoah NP in VA is 3,600. As long as you stay on the rim and not hike to the bottom of the canyon, you'll be okay. Also wear a hat.[/quote]
