I’m only going on Wegovy because of my doctor’s deep concern about my weight and how it relates to my increased A1C and fasting glucose levels that are just shy of pre diabetes, but increasing fast over the last year.

I have lost 60lbs once and then 80lbs a second time on WW; it has all come back each time after I stopped obsessively counting points. The last time, my doctor told me to stop restricting because even though I was almost at my goal weight having lived in a calorie deficit for over a year had me almost fainting and my hair falling out—even though I’d only been losing 1 to 2 pounds per week.

The reason I have all of this extra weight is medicine I need in order to live. Before I went on it in my mid thirties I was naturally thin with a BMI of around 21. Now it is 35.

I know who Mark Hyman is; I’ve read his work. His “10 day detox” isn’t going to help me. Hopefully Wegovy will; at least my pcp thinks it will.[/quote]
