He’s the dad, he’s a good one, he runs the show on that front, and I’m an extra person in the house who is like a quasi aunt.

I'm happily married to my children's father, so I have no skin in the game.  I do think that OP is projecting their feelings outward, which is telling.  Maybe understanding thay relationships are as unique as the people in them would be helpful.[/quote]
