My son is finishing his freshman year. He's been very happy there. Studies hard, but is very low stress about grades. Involved in several student groups, so stays busy. The students are very smart, involved, nice. He's got a nice group of close friends. Plenty of parties to go to when he wants. Loves having Wawa next to campus.
Wawa! I’m not sure why or how, but a huge part of the WM experience. (Also apparently the only Wawa in the US that does sell gas. My DD is a non-drinker and does nerf club Sat nights instead of parties (100 kids with nerf guns take over different academic buildings for elaborate games— nice socializing for kids who don’t want to party). But then heads to WaWa at 1 am to hang with nerf kids and some of her drunk friends who are coming from parties. And loves it. SMH.
Huh? I have been to several WaWas that sell gas and that do not sell gas.
I posted this. My source is my WM student. It gets an “apparently” because IDK if it’s true or not. TBH, I don’t care. I do think there is something funny about a bunch of college kids who love hanging out at midnight on a weekend at a chain I associate with gas stations. But, there are certainly much worse things they could be doing.
They are all over Philly/Eatern PA and NJ campuses…I mean you can get a $6 foot long hoagie, all kinds of rewards points, etc….and they are open late
+1. My kid has figured out that if you order for your group on the app and have them Venmo or cash app you, then you can basically never pay for your meal. Add to funny WM TWAMP-Y thing: the Hogworts Express (Amtrak stuff with hundreds of WM kids headed to NOVA and beyond) on breaks. My favorite, because it means my kid is headed home. And I love seeing all the kids finding their people (and occasionally their dogs). And hating on grad students and seniors ringing the Wren Bell (this week was apparently grad students and I got a couple annoyed texts). But I know when it’s my kid’s turn, it will be the proudest (and bittersweet) moments of her life.
