I'm 58 and I think I'm aging pretty well. I think most people would think I'm in my 50s though, so maybe I'm not exactly who you want to hear from. :-) The secret, IMO, starts when you're much younger. I have always worn sunscreen, eaten well, kept my weight in a normal BMI range without disordered eating or yo-yo dieting, and gotten regular exercise. I have never smoked and was not much of a drinker. I had a loving, low-stress childhood and have supportive family and friends. I come from fairly long-lived people (3 grandparents did in their mid-80s, one in his mid-90s), and if late fertility is any indication of relative youthfulness, my maternal grandmother and my mother both got pregnant easily in their late 30s/early 40s, and I too conceived my youngest child easily at age 37. Maybe most important: I did not hit menopause until I was almost 57, which really makes a difference in aging in your 50s (although makes you higher risk for certain kinds of cancer). I expect that I will age more quickly in the next few years, now that I'm in menopause. Oh yeah, and I use retinoids and BHAs, take vitamin D religiously, continue to use sunscreen on my face every day, and lift weights. But I honestly think it's much more about the stuff in the previous paragraphs.
