Actually, I do know what goes on in local schools.  I attended a school similar to Annandale.  Schools like Annandale tend to have more of a focus on security related issues because administrators are more sensitive to issues like gang activity and physical assaults.  Meanwhile, the schools that rich kids attend have their own issues, which often are swept under the rug and ignored in wealthier communities.  I would bet my bottom dollar that the amount of drugs getting flushed through each of Whitman, Langley, Georgetown Prep and Madeira far exceeds the amount at a school like Annandale.  But Annandale gets disparaged here because it has ugly, unwelcoming bathrooms, while misconduct at other schools takes place under the radar because parents and administrators are heavily invested in maintaining the community's upscale image.
