A UTI is not an STD. UTI are generally rare in men who are not senior citizens. This is a weird thing for you and your DH to be concerned about
This is all correct. Although the vast majority of male UTIs are caused by an STD. Assuming a young married male who isnt cheating, a UTI is almost certainty. I mean, 48 yo straight, monogamous men do not get UTIs.
Wow. A blanket statement about EVERY 48 year old, straight, monogamous man ever, proclaimed as a Universal Truth! Thanks, Doc! While STDs are a common cause of UTIs in men, they are not the sole cause. Prostate issues (which are not just an "old guy" thing), diabetes, various inflammatory conditions, and kidney stones can all cause blood in urine. I'm not a doctor but I found that information in about five seconds. You can too, though I suspect you prefer the absolute certainty of claiming to know so definitively the one and only possible cause of UTIs in any middle-aged man, anywhere, ever.
