[/quote] A lot of people have this reaction when they start if they've only played with the kinds of plastic balls used for rec volleyball, PE class, or casual games at the beach. Once you have access to leather balls, it's so much better. I remember the day our middle school team budget was finally approved (this was way back in the early 90s when you could start in middle school and make the team) and we got our order of leather balls.
